Hey. Need some help deciding on what turbo to get. My t-25 is starting to burn oil and it's time to either rebuid it or upgrade. I would like to put out 300hp at the wheels in the future, so i guess the t-25 is out of the question. So I thought maybe the T-28 BB for a cheap and effecient drop in. But then your pushing 300hp there. I've looked at a few kits on the net. HKS, Blitz, Apex, Greddy. So far the HKS gt2540 kit looks the most appealing to me. Then I was looking at Enjuku.com and saw some of there kits. Anyone had any experience with them, or heard? I called turbocity.com and they have a rebuild kit for my t-25 for $113. Should i wait to do a good upgrade or splurge. Keep in mind i would like to stay below 2400. thanks guys

I like the Apex'i AX53B70 and GT-RS, mainly because of spool and power. They can both be had for around 1700.

Is that the whole kit...turbo, extension, manifold, gaskets, BOV, piping?

i dont see why not go with the entire kit if u can afford it, but upgrading will still give u health substantial boost than what u have

Both do not come with a manifold, they mount in the stock location. They come with all necessary fittings, lines, etc to mount it though.

well then it sounds like you've got a decision to make, it just depends on what kind of gains you're looking for and how much you're willing to spend, and if brand name makes much of a difference to u

i talked with heavy throttle today.. They have a kit "stage I" they call it for 2300. It sounds pretty nice. It is a heavily upgraded t-28 turbo from Force Performance, JMT reprogrammed ecu, 550 inj., z-32 map, pipes and hardware, and air filter kit. He said that it is claimed 320-340hp to the wheels. He is putting one on his car right now and is going to dyno it. He also said that his friend is taking off a complete Apex-i kit off of his car which produced 450 to the wheels and needs to sell it.. said around 3200. Has the turbo, manifold, all hardware etc. Enjuku racing has a kit that consist of a ss mani. and bb t-28 from the s15 for 1880 and that is pushing 300hp. I think heavy throttle has a better deal. I also talked to turbonetics. All they have is a stock t-28 or i can go to t3-t4 but then i need a t3 flange on a new mani. Anyone had any success at this? lemme know what u all think

Heavy Throttle claims they're "heavily upgraded" T28 is only good for 320-340 WHP?? Does that sound a bit strange to anyone else?? I thought the stock T28 from the S15 was good for that much (maybe even a little more). And you could pick up a brand new T28 BB from an S15 for around $800...

I'm looking at getting an SS44 from AGP turbos. It used to be called an L1R, but they changed the name. Anyway, it's a DSM turbo, but they said they'll put a T2 turbine housing on it and it will be a bolt on turbo for the stock location. ~430hp capable and 22psi by 3000-3100rpm for $1300, dual ball bearing. Sounds pretty bad *** to me.

thats also at 22psi, more than id be willing to run for a daily driver, anyway, as far as the t28 is concerned, a stock t28 can push out damn near 3oohp, but then again ,you're pushing the limits of the turbo, honestly, for the money, go for the t3/t4 set up

the gt2540 has bad surge problems because of the mis-sized wheels. i didn't even think they were going to keep producing it...?? it has trouble with making good power at the same boost, because the surge. i've heard that the swap to a gt2835 made a huge difference on one car that jgs turbo was dealing with. i'd just stay away from it...incon bb37 would make around 450hp and will spool nicely. although we are having a hard time getting these, we have another manufacturer making us a similar turbo soon....and it will be sold cheaper...so if you wait around for a couple weeks and call us, we might can give you a time and more details....cause the gritty details aren't available right now...so please don't call for a couple weeks...:0)shaun

I plan to go with a higher flowing manifold and full turbo back 3" FMIC and an internally wastegated GT2835R. Ive heard it can produce 325-350HP and do so with a fast spool which is what im looking for.
