Can anyone let me know what a good price is for it were it is located as well as will that keep the car from being drivible once the new alternator is installed as well as the battery. Help if you can. Links prices or if you have one good thats used. Lets make a deal. The car wont be delivered until 1 Aug so let me know soon please.

No idea what a time control unit is. Does it have another name? I assume it's not the clock! :)

The time control unit is located on the left kick panel north of the A/T controller according to my 91 service manual (EL-151).

On EL-77 it says that the time control unit controls the following:

*Intermittant Wiper Control*Washer and Wiper Combination Control (Wiper moves with washer on)*Light warning (chimes when headlamps are on, door is open, and ign. switch is off)*Seat belt warning chime timer*Rear defrost timer*Interior lamp fade*Door key hole illumination

Doesn't look like it controls anything critical, but I'd be concerned about what else may have been damaged by the high voltage. Fred may be able to sell you one, or check out http://www.car-part.com. You'll need to look under "Transmission Computer" and then select "Body Control Module" - don't know why, but that's the way I found it. Looks like you can get one for about $100. The fact we haven't discussed it shows it's a rare problem, so there should be plenty available. I left the time control unit unplugged on my Maxima once after installing the alarm - lots of fun stuff didn't work...
