Do the 90 tt's have a tilt steering wheel, or was it optional?

i wish the Z had tilt wheel. ive got a 93 but the 1990 model i previously owned was soo much more comfortable to drive because of the smaller steering wheel. Just out of curiosity could the steering wheel of a 1990 be swapped with a 93?

Well if it can't be interchanged, you could still get an aftermarket steering wheel that is smaller. Maybe it can, but my bet is that most ppl go aftermarket if they are taking off the steering wheel.

I believe early 1990s have no airbag, allowing for that smaller steering wheel. Removing an OEM air bag steering wheel for a non-airbag one is illegal in most states btw... never heard of ppl getting in trouble for it though unless your car is noticibly brand new

was the wheel a differnt diameter or did you have one of the few non airbacg cars? as far as I know all the wheels should be interchangable but you might be looking as loosing the airbag

I know the 70-83 are all interchangable , purely guessing on the Z32

Here are the two styles offered, you can noticibly see the 1993 Airbag equipped on the left due to the new laws out then. The right, the pre-required airbag era. I believe that they would be interchangeable since kits for aftermarket steering wheels are made with no specifics to the air bag and non air bag models of Z.

As stated above, tilt wheel isn't an option and I don't believe it can be done. But who knows with enough money.

I have a Sparco steering wheel in mine that is a smaller diameter than the stock 90 wheel and it gives a little more room.

Actually it might be easier then everyone thinks. BEE*R makes a tilt steering wheel hub adapter.

Found it here if anyone is interested...http://www.daliracing.com/v666...=1719

This is your solution: Although, I'm sure you don't feel like going on Safari like I did with my suede zebra..haha. I have a Signal billet quick release with dished Momo Rally wheel. Puts the wheel exactly where I want it.

Well it could also be a option package with certain Zs I would imagine, if you wanted a Z with that in it I could see Nissan offering it
