Tilt/Telescoping Steering

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi,

Has anyone had any issues with the steering wheel tilt feature not working? mine does not work and makes a grinding sound when i try to move it. the telescoping still works fine.

Unfortunately this is a Nissan weak spot. Tons of issues with the tilt wheel in Maxima's as well. I personally had the one in my Maxima repaired at the dealer and that board is filled with people who had the motors replaced

looking at the service records for my EX, it looks like the previous owner took it back 3 times for the tilt/telescoping issue and had the motor replaced twice.

I have had it for almost a year now and have never had any problem or 'bad' noise. (hoping I didn't just jinx myself) I don't use the feature to move it when I turn the engine off or turn it on...but I do adjust it often while I drive.

I had to have mine fixed. It was under warranty. Maybe around two years ago, no problems since.
