I'm looking for help and/or info about how to fix the tilt steering on a 1994 Nissan Hardbody King-cab XE-V6 (4x4).

The steering wheel locks up and out of the way with no problem (because the "hook" engages the cross bolt). The first step below that seems to click into place, but I can push down on the steering wheel and cause it to disengage. When it disengages it clicks through the various steps down to the lowest, but it never engages at any of the steps so that the steering wheel remains at the desired step.

I found this post, tilt-steering-lock-t568449.html#p6432128, about adjusting a bolt to get the tilt mechanism to click into the tilt steps on a Maxima/Infiniti. Is there something similar that can be done for my truck? If not, what do you suggest?

Thanks for any help...
