Getting some Rims for my car this summer, I just wanted to know if there was a way to add a Tilt-sensor to a DEI-x771 Viper Alarm system. I would like to add some type of mercury switch so I my Alarm will go off if someone attempt to jackup the car...

Is it worth it? or can it even be done?

I've never heard of it, but I don't know that much about car alarms. I'd think the alarm would go off even if they didn't jack up the car just from vibration alone.

I'd just invest in some of those security lug nuts to deter common thieves.

The Directed 507M ($50) is fantastic. It is digital and the car must be lifted and held there for the alarm to trigger which prevents wind false alarms. It determines it's beginning angle when the alarm is armed and if it is moved 1 degree or more, it triggers. Flawless.Mercury type sensors are very old school and will false like there is no tommorrow.

An impact sensor will not detect jacking/towing. Wheel locks are a good deterrent as well. Anything to slow losers down is great.

Warning: Avoid the Directed 507T at all costs. It is a falsing POS!!!!!!

Works with any alarm. You may be able to find the manual on directed's site.
