A friend of mine in Japan sent me some links for their more popular Tiida aftermarket suppliers. Use Yahoo or Google to translate from Japanese to English where possible.

I am working to see if we are coming out with any Special Vehicle or NISMO parts for the Versa.

There is speculation of the Nismo Cube line will transfer over to Versa, being the same engine. But that would probably only be an intake, so not much promise so far.

And the Tiida is so different from the Versa that most of that stuff won't work.

I keep reading that the Tiida is so different from the Versa, how is it different? Are there side by side specs and differences of each vehicle?

Basically there are two versions:

1. Tiida/Latio (made in Japan, China, Thailand)2. Versa/Tiida (made in Mexico)

Version 1 is sold in Japan, China, Thailand, SE Asia, Australia, Middle East, and some Carribean countries.

Version 2 is sold in North America, South America, some Central American countries, and Europe.

Interestingly, there are left- and right-hand drive variants of both versions.

Both versions have a variety of engine options, all dependent on market. Some engines are: Gasoline: 1.5, 1.6, 1.8; Diesel: 1.5 turbo. There may be others.

How can you tell the difference?1. Door mirrors. Version 1 has smaller mirrors positioned further back. Version 2 has mirrors closer to the little triangular windows on the A-pillar.2. Front hood, grille, and bumper. Version 1's grille is two-piece, while Version 2 is a single piece. Also, the front door skins are different due to the mounting points for the rear view mirrors.

Here are some pics:This one is Version 1: http://www.netcarshow.com/nissan/2004-tiida/This is Version 2, in RHD: http://www.loadzacars.ie/cars/...94166

The engine/transmission/trim specs vary from market to market. There are way too many permutations if we were to count them all.

Sounds like the differences are only minor things that has nothing to do with wheel bases length and/or width of the vehicle though so if someone in fact still wanted some aero on their vehicles it still seems very possible to order kits made for the Tiida or the Latio.

I don't think Nissan is going to change anything too much from the frame itself due to cost & savings. The usual JDM vs USDM thing is old with their lights, different looking bumpers, optional interior upgrades, etc etc...

the headlights and tailights from the tiida will work on our versas... now if youre going to order a body kit made for a tiida and try and put it on your versa thats a whole other story, the tiida's from japan dont have the 5mph foam behind their bumpers... we however do... so you could do a conversion but will have to remove the foam... now if your trying to add tiida lips to your versa bumper thats a different story... the versa bumpers are larger then the tiida bumpers so you would have to modify the piece... hope this made sense...

Dude, this gets me! I check out all the options and features the Tiida has compared to the Versa in the US on the Japan website. We get the shaft!

I would like to point them out, and hopefully Nissan of America can impliment these for the 2011 Versa remodel.

- Automatic temperature control- Built in GPS- Cargo net- Sporty lip kit & bumpers- Cup holder lid/cover- Different dash kit/style- Side mirror turn signals- Flexible Cargo Holder (pic with dog)- Illuminated kick plates- 4wd

All I can say is, I hope they bring all these accessories to the US!

I doubt it. THings are different over there because they have models placed UNDER the Versa's price point. Over here, to keep it from directly interfering with the Sentra, they cheapen it to make it the "entry" level car.

Unles Nissan decides to move their entire product upmarket again, you'll likely not see any of those features.

Hell, we wouldn't even have the Versa if the Sentra didn't move upmarket.

That 5 mph foam will not bother me. I drove my s13s without the front bumper support & foam for YEARS with fmic's.

What you're saying bumper wise is nothing new coming from Nissan either.

Right now there are not any new fascias coming via Nismo parts that I know of. The suspension and exhaust off the Tiida will transfer over. There is rumor of a special edition in the future, but nothing has been determined that I have heard of.

Don't count on it. Most of the options you listed would put the Versa at a higher price bracket. The Versa is positioned to be the low-cost car in North America. If Nissan USA did what you're asking, people would be laughing them for selling a expensive small car that can't compete with the competition.

Why is that everytime I post something you're mostly repugnant and dissenting? I try to make a point and it seems you try to down talk alot of what I and many people say. Just letting you know.

Notice the foot-operated parking brake?? (just above the dead pedal)
