The lifters in my 91' are rattling and I want to know if they can just be tightened or do I have to replace something?

First, are you sure its your lifters? The KA is notorious for being loud (the injectors make noises, as well as the timing chain guides).

I already replaced the 2 chains, 2 tensioners, and the 2 chain guides and the sound is louder than the injectors coming directly from the top of the motor.

The lifters on the KA24 E and DE are not adjustable like most. They have to be shimmed unless you have the adjustable rockers made by deviouska aftermarket. This is best left to a machinist in my opinion due to the fact that the lifters have to be removed and the gap measured to determine the shim needed to fit.

Also, try the search feature at the top of the screen for a more information.

So I guess they can't just be tightened and the head has to be removed, or does it?. I'm really starting to regret spending money rebuilding this ka motor, it just never ends.
