Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy these?? I'm installing my front mount and, at this point, I am NOT dropping $400 on a new intake plenum. So, I have to run the piping from the driver's side, behind the intercooler, to the other end, and it's kind of a tight fit, so I need a 2.5" ID 180 degree aluminum U-bend with as tight a radius as possible.

Phase2motortrend has these bends, but there's no picture and I don't know how tight the radius is. I emailed them and they said they'd get back to me with a pic, but they haven't yet.

Any ideas?

(btw, the intercooler is one of these that i managed to get, brand new, for $30. I'll be running the piping probably directly behind it, so it'll be partially blocking the airflow through the intercooler...)

it look short, you could run the piping under or over the top of the intercooler. i'm planning to route mine over the top, though.

i know someone that sell intercooler piping for fairly cheap. let me know all the bend you need, i probably could get a quote for you.

I'm gonna get this local muffler shop to make my piping for me. They're cheap and do great work. The problem is they don't have a mandrel bender, so they can't do the 2.5" U-bends. I'm planning on buying the bend from someplace and then having the shop connect the piping from there.

i did the same, but im changing it out soon. (got more room taking koyo out)

but basically we made our own. took 2 pipes next to eachother. then basically welded a plate on the end....basically. some dremeling and what not. but the basic idea was a box.

i can try to take some pics later if i get my camera back. but as i wrote, changing to over the top to clean up all my piping (which is a lot)

Hey your just in luck, unfortunately the site I mentioned in an earlier post "Promical" has been under construction for the damn longest time so I went with someone else. I purchased:

2.5" 14g mild steel 45's for $11.50 and 90's for $12.50 each.

I believe the smallest centerline radius they do is 3.75" which is pretty good. Only downside is he didn't have a lighter gauge steel. Anyways just email him at [email protected].

Road Race Engineering has 2.5" mild steel and aluminum U-bends with a 3" radius. And like BoostFed said, you should be able to easily route your pipe above or underneath the intercooler since it is so short. Why do you want it behind the IC?

Yeah I guess I could run the pipes over or under the intercooler, I just have to make sure I've got the room. Don't really want to run it underneath the IC because the car's low to the ground as it is. Wouldn't want to hit a bump and spring a leak :(

THANKS for the link man, those RRE U-bends sound perfect (plus half as much money as the phase2 bends, they're like $40  )

Yeah i have the same IC but i have the 6 inch onei too am either gonna have to run the piping behind it or a tight u-bend over itBut what im doing is buying 90 degree bends and cutting and welding them back togetherwhen i finish it ill let you know what i doIm going to be using these pipes: http://www.VibrantPerformance.comOr if you do it before i do let me know what you did[email protected]
