Tein Rods and ends, vs Kazama ends. Can be picked up for about the same money.

Are tein TR ends pillowball, or old fashioned grease balloons?

im wondering the same things, as i can even get the tein rods and ends for less than the kazama ends... hmmm-Enzo

edit: would it be better to use the kazama ends on the stock tie rods or swap out the whole thing for the tein? i do road racing, so steering accuracy and feedback is key.

Actually, If you want, you can get the tein tie rods, and get the s14 kazama tie rod ends.

You can get the teins without the ends, its usually about 75. You just need to get the s14 kazama ends to fit with the teins.

No, they are just beefier that the stock ones. I just ordered a set from Projectsilvia. I will let everyone know how I like them after the install. My steering is all squirley right now cause both inners and outters are bad.

The Tein have the normal grease ball joints. They are beefier though an include spacers for the rack. You can't use the lock clip if you use the spacers.

I installed them immeaditely when I picked up my 92 S13. The boots were split and the rods looked extremely fatigued. So I picked up these from phase2. Really tough and good looking product.

CAUTION!ALWAYS use TEIN Strengthened Tie Rod together with TEIN Strengthened Rod End. The following combination will NOT work: Genuine tie rod with TEIN Strengthened Rod EndTEIN Strengthened Tie Rod with genuine rod end

Note on the spacers from Tein:

CAUTION!By using the spacer A, included in the kit, the steering wheel cut off angle will be increased. However it might cause tires and fenders/wings to hit each other or the other parts of the vehicle, depending on the size of the tires and/or wheel. When this happens, simply removing the spacers could solve the problem, but there will not be any increase in the angle. Please use the spacers at your own risk.

I DO have these installed. You do feel the increase in angle. I do have stock wheels and tire sizes though. I have not had any problems. When I change out my wheels I'll see what happens.

The other, best and most expensive option is JIC Magic super beefy tie rods with the Kazama ends attached......amazingly enough I was just thinking about doing this.....not JIC, but tie rod swap out in general.
