Hi. New to this site, enjoying the pics and all the posts. Trying to find info on Doing a job myself. I took my 98 qx4 to mechanic and he told me I need new driver side inner tie rod and wheel bearings. I was wondering if I should replace both driver and passenger side? also if I should replace the whole thing. Outer and ends. How do I change the wheel bearings? Any input would be greatly appreciated, kinda a noob but I'm pretty confident I can do the job myself since money's tight. thx

I'm not sure about the tie rods but the wheel bearings are cake. From what I remember you remove the wheel, caliper and rotor. I think there's 2 philips screws behind the hub that hold everything together. Once those are out you can twist out a round locking plate that gives you access to the wheel bearing. They're not sealed so you can repack them yourself. I'm going to be upgrading my pads and rotors soon and will post pics of everything. If any of this is wrong please someone correct me, it's been a while since I did this.

Welcome to the board!

I followed this guide to re-pack my wheel bearings, 99Q. Fairly easy, but a little labor intensive. Good luck
