so i went over this speedbump diagonally and hear a "thunk". I didnt think much of it at first until i tried to park! i turned my wheels and tried to go forward but it wouldnt move. Looked outside and my wheels where like this

\ \ / / . oh ****! i looked underneath and my driver side tie rod was snapped. so i'm in the market for new tie rods now. I drove home across town with one wheel to steer going 5-10mph when i went over 15mph my front left wheel vibrated violently, so i had to stay under that. From your experience, what should I look into buying while i'm replacing the tie rods? Also, what else should I check for? thanks yall!

i hit a curb going 65mph, snapped my tie rod and bent my lower control arm, two very hard peices of metal.... like scott said, check for bends or cracks, turn ur wheel, receck the upper control arm (used to actually steer) for bendage, i kno mines bent a lil, u will also be able to tell when u turn (some turning will be easy, some hard).

as for replacing a tie rod, its about 20-30 mins depending on if you have the tools. if you dont have the tools, dont attempt it, get the tools, your going to need a breaker bar, 17mm sockets (2 of em, or 1 17mm socket and a 17mm monkey wrench) use the breaker bar on all 3 bolts or you will break your socket wrench. its actually pretty easy except for breaking the bolts loose. when you tighten your bolts, you should even go as far as to tighten them very tightly with the breaker bar, trust me, you dont want ur tie rod popping off while going 55mph down a street, your tire will slam into your fender a good 5 inches, you will end up doing a donut into another car/pole/ditch/sign/and we cant forget a dumpster. and then you will prolly end up tearing your upper control arm....

might want to check your tie rod boots near the rack and pinion, and also get an alignment when your done
