I did a search on tie rods but nothing really describing the process of removing it. Can anyone tell me how I go about removing the boot and how I get it off the steering geer (or what's under that boot)?? Once I remove the boot, how do I go about putting it back??

Thanks!

there should be a ziptie or wire thats holding the boot on, cut that. slide boot down. there will be a metal washer/lock peice you will see. you have to bend the edges out, then get a big *** wrench and the whole tie rod will twist out. there is flat spots on the tie rod base to put the wrench on.
