Hey guys, just wondering the best way to remove the front tie-rods. I'm not exactly sure the best tool to use to get the job done or if there is a special way to do it. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the tension rods? Pretty straightforward, just unbolt them lol. I think you need a 14mm and either two 17mm or a 17mm wrench to get the job done. A breaker bar will come in handy.

LOL! No tie rods are part of the steering system, they transfer the movement from the steering rack to the knuckles. Are you doing inner or outer tie rods? The outers are much easier!

No, I meant the tie rods. And if at all possible I'd like to just do the outers. How do I get them lose from the inner tie rods? they just keep turning with the rest of the assembly.

You were able to pop the outer tie rod out of the knuckle okay? What you have to do is undo the double nut on the end of the outer tie rod and it should unscrew from the inner tie rod. Make sure you get an alignment after as your toe will be all out of whack. Try to count how many threads to take it off and put it back on the same threads.

Yeah I got the outer tie rod out from the knuckle as you call it, the thing that's connected to where the brake rotor is lol. I'm still just having trouble removing the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod, not sure how to get it loose because there's no force to stop the whole thing from spinning so I can break it loose.

Use lots of pb blaster, vice grips, wrenches, even a pipe wrench if you need to.

And you could always use a torch, but most people don't have them laying around

It usually helps if you leave the outer tie rod attached to the knuckle. It stops it rotating as much.
