The alignment shop got the toe on both sides within factory spec, but the driver's side tie rod end is screwed in as far as it goes. The inner tie rod hit the "bottom" of the hole in the tie rod end when we screwed it far enough to get the toe right. And there are only one or two free threads showing on the inner tie rod. I haven't looked closely at the other side to see if it has any problem, but when I was eyeballing the toe so I could drive the car to the shop, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I'm fairly sure that even if I hadn't noticed anything bent, the shop would have when they did the alignment.
This is what I'm thinking, When I got the rack, I assumed that the splined shaft that the steering column bolts to was in the middle, allowing me to just bolt the column onto it. Maybe, (if it's even possible?) the rack was one steering wheel turn off from the middle. Know what I mean? Like, I would have to turn the steering wheel one full turn to the right, unbolt the tie rods, unbolt the steering column, straighten the rack so its in the middle, and then reattach the tie rods. Get what I mean? I'm not even sure if this is possible because NISTECH made it seem like there is only one way to attach the rack.
Thanks for your help man.
