Starboard Tie Rod end ist kaput. With car on lift I can jiggle the wheel when grabbed at 3 and 9...about 1/8-1/4 inch or so. Upon inspection under the car, all the play is at the tie rod end. Port side seems to be tighter than a frogs a$$. FSM shows a fancy removal tool (which I obviously do not have in my possession). However, I do have an old fashioned tie rod end remover...remember back in the dark ages, when you stuck a beveled tuning fork gizmo into the tie rod end and gave it a whack??

Car is going to the shop to have the struts and mounts replaced, so I thought that I'd save a few by removing and replacing the offending part my own self prior to having the work done and the front end aligned.

Any issues which I ought to be aware prior to R and R'ing this unit?

I wouild hve them do it as they will have great access when they do the struts. Harkly worth the bother. Have new boots on hand if needed.

And of course if will need an alignment.
