Tie rod boots seeping?

My I30 was in for routine maintenance today, and the dealer said that the outer tie rod boots were starting to seep and that they should be checked at the next visit. How big of an issue is this (and what kind of replacement cost am I looking at)? Also, is there a good way to verify what the dealer is saying without a lift?

I wouldn't worry too much about it until they tell you that there is excessive play in the joints.
