Ok so my tie rod boots are both broken. I have no idea how long they have been torn for I have own the car for a little over a year now. I searched on Nico and found out that a broken boot can cause damage to the steering rack. I plan on replacing my boots asap. But anyone know how I can check if there has been any damage don't to the steering rack? Cause I would have to replace these boots, and then come to find out later down the line that my steering rack needs replacing.

I've had a torn boot for 3 years now... no signs of damage. Then again I don't drive on gravel or sand. But unless you feel something (noises/harder steering effort/etc), it shouldn't be a problem. Replace the boots, and you should be set. Steering rack swap is only for when your P/S works, but it feels like it doesn't.
