Noob here!I just bought a megan racing tie bar and it seems a little too short. The Guy i bought it from say it was for his 240sx coupe. Its their a different from coupe and fastback/ hatchback? I have a 1990 model.

"The rear lower Sub frame brace eliminates rear sub frame flex due to extreme cornering." I just copy that somewhere. Its just like rear strut. But basically it goes under the car instead of inside the trunk.

Coupe and Hatch subframes are all the same. So, the brace's length should be the same for both cars.

This is where it mounts, just fyi.

Interesting.I've always heard it referred to as a "diff Brace".

Did you have to remove anything and throw away any scrap metal or was it just bolt-on?

its all bolt on. I think the only thing different needed to do is get longer hardware because with the tie bar in, the oe bolts would be too short. Hopefully it was provided by megan or something. My tie bar came with longer hardware.

isn't the megan one adjustable anyways?

I put the car on a lift and had 3 people with me eye balling it and we came to the conclusion that it might be too short. I want to do some do some research before i put it on instead in trial and error.

i have one installed on my car, make sure the suspension is NOT compressed, so basically put it on with all 4 wheels off the ground, it should fit by extending the brace to make it longer, mine was kinda a pita but it did fit

If it's adjustable....adjust it so it's longer.

good, i wasn't the only one thinking that.

op, are you sure it's megan? i can't find an adjustable subframe brace from them, unless maybe it's an old design.

OE bolts work just fine. I saw positron_ has this bar, so I bought it on eBay. It was $9.99 or $11.99 shipped somethinglike that. I don't think 240s need it.

must be an older version, it loos like all the new ones aren't adjustable. and judging by your pic, i'm thinking that the op doesn't have the black brackets on either end.

I felt zero difference... but who knows?

sounds like a civic part that a 240 owner thought would be a good idea to use... kinda like c pillar bars, lol

I'm 95% sure it's only purpose is to make changing the diff that much harder. It basically covers the 2 lower bolts.
