The Mass Air Flow sensor is located in the intake tubing. You can try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner. Just lightly spray the cleaner on the inside of the sensor and let air dry. If you need a new one a quick search of one of NICO's sponsors came up with $393.04 + shipping.

Hi, I’m an owner of a Nissan Quest 97, since last summer a face the problem of lose power and have the ticking noise above 2000rpm when the car is warm and that most of the time occurs when I am accelerating up a hill. This week I found here that cleaning the MAF the problem could be fix it, so, I buy I bottle of cleaner for electronic parts (around US$4) and clean my MAF and PROBLEM SOLVED (at last) and the car fell more powerful than before. Thanks all.

Rattling under acceleration? Could be pre-detonation. I would say the timing is off or the octane level of the gas is too low. Are u runningpremium?
