Ticking Temp. Sensor

While Im on the Highway ( constant speed say above 55) My temp needle starts flickering, now it still about in the middle of the bars the whole time but it flickers a couple of mm's. Anyone know what this is? Thanks`

Maybe the sending unit going bad?

Welcome to NICO. How long since you've replaced your thermostat?

Also check your coolant reservoir to make sure your car is not consuming 'more' coolant.

can you tell me where the sending unit is and is the thermostat a PITA job?

IF you havent done your timing belt recently and it needs done, you might as well do the entire belt job.
