Thought I had a case of these. Could here a clicking noise above the engine noise with the windows down, absolutely awful.

Well I went to go pull my drive belts and the damned PS/Fan pulley needs to be replaced, the bearing is dried out and ticks.Thank god I guess!

That's an unusual failure mode for those. Usually they whine like a Ford power steering pump. In either case it's a good thing you found it. More than one Q has overheated after that pulley seized and the water pump stopped turning.

I'm gonna replace all my pulleys soon. When converting my AC, the compressor pulley wasn't as smooth as some. I think I'll go aftermarket with these.

TexasOil provides alternatives

I keep a stock of the Q45 idler pulley bearings now. I have 3 cars that use them. I no longer use Timken -had bad experiences lately. I use extremely high quality parts with synthetic grease for ultra-wide temperature range. These are made in the same facility and production lines that make the super-quiet bearings used in nuclear submarines and in space equipment.

I will sell a set of 4 for $25, including USPS mailing. Paypal only.

Same size bearings ( but far inferior quality) cost $20 EACH at parts stores now.

The parts stores in my area carry virtually nothing besides airfilters and drive belts for the Q45 because there isn't an Infiniti dealership within 2 hours =(

Check your email, texasOil!

I'll buy a set. Never took notice... are the bearings easy to get on/off the pulley wheel?

Pretty sure they need to be pressed out and in. You can buy a press or take them to a shop

I just took one of these ideler pulleys off the other day and I could not get the bearing out of the metal casing. The bearing is pressed in and then it is crimped in place so it will not come apart.
