ticking from head

What is the ticking i hear from the valve cover, they sound metal to metal, and more noticable (i don't know if it's still there on upper RPMS) in the 1k to 2.5K RPM.

What do i need to do to fix this???

if its really fast and continuous... maybe its the timing chain?240's come with a chain that clicks, as opposed to a belt that doesnt make any noise.

it varies with RPM and i only can hear it in the lower RPM, i will make sure where the sound is exactly in the chain area or in the head area.

This may sound stupid, but before you try any expensive repairs, check your oil. My 240 has a real loud tick when it gets low on oil. Add a couple quarts and drive it a little, once the oil works its way around the motor, the noise should go away. If it doesnt, then you have bigger problems.

its your timing chain guide, i took mine out last month its just 2 bolts........even when nissan puts in a new chain they dont put it back on, its worthless in my o

I had the same noise. It was my lifters. I dont know how much they cost because my granddad pulled some strings with his friends.
