hey i'm new on here but hopefully some of you can help out. I've got a '95 S14 with 145,000 miles on the KA and it has a light ticking sound and an intermitent miss. I'm thinking it's the timing chain but don't want to dig into it if that's not it. I know a timing chain change is a big headache and costs a lot.

I've changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, and used some Lucas injector cleaner and the plug wires are in great shape. Just wanted to see what you all think.

Check your oil level and see where it's at. If it's ok, take it to a shop and have them take a listen. It may be a rod knock but you're best bet is to have an experienced tech take a listen.

the oils fine, i watch it pretty close. i'm pretty sure it's not a rod cause they have a totally different sound. this tick is real faint. not sure?

The miss sounds like a car that has too big of a cam, how they kinda of have a miss every now and then.
