hey guys i got a KA24E fully stock, i recently developed a tick sound coming from the engine bay. At first i though it was a bad wire, specially since i popped the hood and saw small sparks where the wire and spark plug meet. Today while on my way home i decided to stop by and buy some new wires since i have not changed them in a long time, after changing them i could not see the sparking anymore but still hear the tick... any thoughts?? Oh FYI i highly doubt its my tensioner because the sound is towards the back of the engine.

Could be a tensioner or lifter tick. Try adjusting the gap on your lifters.

it could just be your heat shields for your exhaust

its probably your timing chain rubbing on the guides. Replace the guides.
