I was originally looking into using a Tial 35mm but what does the Hybrid wastegate benefit from? Is it just the option to use larger bar springs to run higher boost?

The reason I ask is because I can get both but am just unsure if a Hybrid will be the best for me since I will be running 7 and 12 lbs of boost.

The 35mm is not made anymore, its now a 38mm it just uses the old parts. Bigger size less chance of boost creep, or spike

If you're only running 7 and 12 psi on the stock turbo(right?) you don't need a big wastegate. The stock one is fine for that much boost

Agreed...a T25/28's doesn't really flow enough at 7-12psi to make good use of an external wastegate. I'm a fan of overkill but you got to draw the line somewhere. However, if this is an upgraded turbo we are talking about that MAY change things.

Between the 38mm and the 40mm wastegate...as stated above the larger wastegate with control larger turbos at higher boost levels with less change of boost spikes.~Brendan

Hehehe.... plus, with an external wastegate your car sounds like a 747 taking off :)

only if you have an external dump. you can always put a silencer/muffler on the pipe or have it routed back into your exhaust

Of course there's nothing wrong with sounding like a 747! :D

or you could just make a y pipe and have it routed back into the exhaust downstream
