Now when you talk about x amount of watts, you know the difference between RMS and peak, right? Also, I would assume that you know about ohm impedence, different wiring configurations, etc.. You can't just SET your amp to 1100W and your subs to 1000W,you do realize that you will have to wire them in various ways to achieve what you are talking about. Also, for the equipment and prices you quoting, 1000W is probably at best, 1100 watts PEAK @ 1 or 2 ohms. I can almost guarantee you that you will not find an amp capable of 1100W RMS at a stable, useable ohm level (say 4) for $800. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but you cannot expect to run out and bump a true 1000W+ RMS system for the small amount of money you are talking about. Read up on some audio forums about the various things I mentioned above, I would recommend SoundDomain.K1LLA916K wrote:ooooooooooooooooh i was looking 4 subwoofers online all nite and i found a rockford fosgate 12 inch subwoofer wit a max output of 2000watts for 300$. and then i found a rockford fosgate amp for $800 to handle 2000 watts which really feels discouraging but fear not ill have the money sumtime by 2005.
When they say bridged they mean that instead of using all the terminals on your amp (say 4) you just use the two that will bypass the others and let the most power flow. You really have to look in your amp manual as they can be different, but in essence all you do is take the negative terminal of one side and the positive terminal of the other side and wire them either in series or in parallel to achieve the ohm level and the wattage you are looking for. Diagrams are really easier to understand than words and I believe there are some wiring diagrams on SoundDomain. If not you can always google it. But really before you go and mess with any wires in your system make sure that you know what you are doing as you can fry an amp in no time flat. BTW if you want 1000W+ I would recommend investing in a farad cap as 1000W+ tends to drain the battery quickly and then the alternator etc.. So look into getting a farad cap as soon as your total wattage starts to get in the high hundreds.K1LLA916K wrote:lolz i kno i hav no idea what im talkin about. im not really too knowledged on how systems work i thought it was simple ... u get a powerful sub and a more powerful amp, set it at at most 75% of its peak power handling connect some wires and a deck and youre done. well newayz i was looking around sounddomain thx 4 the link by the way and i just had a question, when they say bridged rms power what the hell do they mean>?
