Ur car due for smog? I could try to help u out, but the guy I know that owns the smog shop is kinda low key about stuff. I know a place that can do it for u in Temecula but costs around 100-200 dollar bills.

Edit: Wow I finally read up on his stuff and it sounds amazing!!! I never had problems w/ smog since I know a guy that owns a shop, but the CARB exemption. Never knew u can get away w/ stuff like that!! That's a CA owner's dream come true!

No more hating on CA for the smog caca we have to go through, ever since I read this I'm reconsidering my goals for my car.

Here are the issues when registering a vehicle out-of-state. When a California vehicle is registered out-of-state, the CA registration is cancelled, the plates must be surrendered, the vehicle must pass a VIN verification, the car must undergo emissions testing (if applicable) and the vehicle must have an out-of-state mailing address.

With CARB exemption, the vehicles owner registers the car out-of-state using their present California address, you keep your CA plates and valid registration, indefinite out-of-state smog exemption status, and voila... CARB exemption because the vehicle would display out-of-state plates, and not CA plates, law enforcement officers cite CA vehicles for CARB incompliance, not out-of-state tourist vehicles that don't have to abide by CARB mandates.

If a cop pulls you over, you give him out-of-state registration, your present proof of insurance, and your present CA drivers license. Keep the CA plates and registration stashed in a safe place. The only citation the cop can give you is not having valid proof of CA registration, and whatever moving violation he established his (PC) probable cause inorder to legally to pull you over.

Go to some of the local carshows and look around at the street legal big turbo cars, they all have out-of-state plates. The best out-of-state plates to get are OR, NV and UT. Please keep your CA plates paid and up-to-date. Insurance is unaffected because follows the VIN #, and not the plate number......

Talk about crazy loophole.
