It's a great class, you can really learn what your car is all about with an instructor teaching you. Another alternative is unlimited laps they hold up there, it costs 200 bucks but they let you do as many laps as you want all day. Tell me if your going up there i'll come up and say hi.

Hey, I've been thinking about taking this class later this summer. It does sound like a good program, on that I could really benifit from. I'm reall anxious to learn more about heel/toe downshifting and the like. Plus it would be as awesome as hell to drive on their road course...

IF I lived that close to a race track like that, I'd be broke from all the lap time. I'm not familiar with the Thunder hill school itself, but several car clubs likely rent out that track and offer schools, like Audi, Porsche, Barber, Panoz etc. I can tell you from personal experience that Barber and Audi are great fun and worth it. Barber is much more comprehensive, but much more expensive. With Audi, you use your own car.
