Thump Sound
Thump Sound
I own a used 1994 Q45 that is the perfect car, with one exception. In the back drivers side there is a low thumping noise, that sounds like it is coming from above the back driver's side wheel. Also when ever i push on the back of the car the it bounces (like it should) but after the car has stopped moving i can hear this thumping sound, and if i put my hand on the car above the wheel well i can feel a vibration. I have look under the car and saw nothing wrong. However I'm not even sure what i should be looking for. Any thought or suggestions would be much appreciated.

How long have current shocks been installed? How many miles?

4 years or 60,000 miles is the~~ period when the shocks become HALF AS STIFF AS BRAND NEW. A Good increment to replace them is every 60k unless you take more than 4 years to drive that much.

id start by replacing the shocks, mounts and boots and see if that fixes it. I bet it does!
