Has any one of the '07 G sedan owners experienced a slight thump going into any of the gears? I romped on the car this morning and I usually experience pretty smooth gear changes in my automatic, but this morning there was a thud from the back seat when it launched into 3rd gear... any thoughts?

I have a 03 coupe w/ the same problem in manual mode. I have taken it into the dealership a few times but of course it never happens when I tell them about it. My problem occurs when I coming to a stop from 3rd gear down... I quite often experience a very hard shift. Now I did read somewhere that it may be an adjustment on a sensor?? ANyway I am back to the gargage next week to INSIST they drive it until they figure it out. Very annoying!Good luck.

Of course I just took it out for lunch and it shifted like a dream... maybe I'm just being too picky... I notice every little noise and difference in my new car... Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a major transmission problem with the new ones...

sounds like you were hitting some odd shifting points. i hear/feel that same thing every now and then.

i have an 04 AT sedan with same problem as you CDNG35. down shifting in manual mode from 3rd to 2nd is a VERY hard shift. so hard i'll only do it now if the car is under 2500 rpms (or lower).

i've also noticed that if i only use my brakes to slow down in manual mode (and not down shift) my transmission goes from 3rd to 1st and never displays hitting 2nd.

I was told that it has occured in the sedan but they hadn't heard of this in the coupe. Hopefully I'll be making my last stop into the garage with this issue next week and that it's a matter of a small adjustment in the sensor.

Hope you get it resolved.good luck!

Not that I've had a thump in the car, but my heart goes thump when I hit backwards instead of forwards in manual mode thinking I'm upshifting...For some reason I feel like hitting backwards should be an upshift. The look on my face the first time it happened was fairly priceless I'm told.

Yes it's a humbling experiece when you are at a red light and you are looking over at the knob in the BMr... the light turns green and you jam the bugger into neutral and the BMr blows you off the line... watching the 325 smoke you because you are reving in neutral... now that's embarassing!
