Well, just thought I'd say thanks to Patrick at Bommarito Infiniti's service department in Ellisville, MO (they call themselves the #1 Infiniti dealer in Missouri, and with their loaded selection, I believe it). Bommarito also sells Oldsmobile and Mazda.

I called a while ago about having my 92 Q45 serviced: I had the AC evacuated, flushed, receiver drier replaced, leak checked, pressure checked, and recharged. $500 with tax, and I was good to go! On time and as promised. Just in time for 105F 100% humidity conditions in St Louis. He even managed to save me some money on parts and recommended a local place for affordable tires, using him as a reference.

Prior to coming in, Patrick thoroughly described all of the components of my air conditioning system and how each operates, gave me an accurate estimate, and helped me understand what I was getting into. I rarely use dealer services, but with his explanation I felt very comfortable.

I should have stuck around longer to gawk at the stunning M45s they had on the lot, sun-protected under a tent. Based on the vast selection I saw there, I certainly believe it when they say theyre the largest dealer in Missouri.

And thumbs DOWN to Plaza Infiniti (also Porsche, Lexus, Audi, Land Rover, Cadillac, and unofficially Ferarri), which is only a few blocks away from my house, for their snobbish attitude and a poorly explained, vague estimate for AC work. I went in there later to buy an oil filter and o-ring, to find a place filled with cold attitudes and not a single Hello. A 'thank you' from the cashier after paying for my part would have been nice too. I handed cash to the lady, she gave me my change, and went right back to her conversation.

I hope to find technicians as nearby, affordable, and dependable as those I had in Spokane WA (TranceWorx on Dishman Rd and American Car Car on Sprague & Sullivan). Until then, I'll be paying a premium, and Bommarito Infiniti is so far fantastic.

Also, the guys at Wal-Mart Tire & Lube in Ballwin MO are extremely friendly and easy to deal with. A Mobil 1 10W30 oil change rings up to only $34.

Its worth driving an extra 20-30 minutes in heavy traffic to avoid Plaza Infiniti. I'll be writing letters to both dealers.

Wow....Plaza Infiniti sounds allot like Beaverton Infiniti. Why is it that high-end vehicle service centers always seem to have a "higher then thou" attitude? I bet they would have treated you allot different if you had pulled up in a new Q45 or M45.

All dealers could learn a lesson from Saturn. There's magic to the way GM is able to sell so many average economy cars to loyal repeat customers.

I was surprised when I first heard Saturn was #2, but I don't think it's a coincidence that they have outstanding cutomer service and that their margin on new cars is pretty high relative to what you can haggle down to with other makes. No doubt their business model looks at things from a different perspective. In the end, they give a lot of people exactly what they want--great customer service, decent, well-marketed cars, and a no-haggle, fixed price.

Jesda,

Because of your Walmart story, I took my Q in to the local Super Walmart (Bellevue Nebraska) where they did the oil change, used my genuine Nissan filter and their Mobil1 oil for just slightly under $30! And they were friendly and didn't break anything either!

Wish there was a Walmart here. That's a smoking deal. 6 quarts of Mobil1 costs me $23 at Costco, and $36 retail at Pep Boys.

Add $9.50 since I always buy and bring my own Nissan oil filter. I'd like to find a place in St Louis that sells Mobil 1 filters though.

$9.50 for the filter? Wow! You should really order a case from Joe. $4.37 each...
