I moved my transmission a few times since I have had my clip and I cant seem to find the throwout bearing now that I am ready to drop in my engine. My question is this, the clutch from a non-turbo 300zx is interchangeable with an rb25 so could I pick up a throwout bearing for a 300zx and use it with my rb?:help

Are we CERTAIN the 90-96 NA 300zx clutch works? I know Night said it did, but with all the controversy with him recently I want a second opinion, has anyone else done it, used it, and not had any problems? The throwout bearing would be good information too :)

Damn are you my long lost twin. Do we have ESp. I was thinking the same thing. I have to question EVERYTHING he has ever said or presented.

I'm not wasting 350 dollars because I read something Cameron said on a website ;) I want some other confirmation! I know there are several RB25 swaps on here...Rub, Grumpy, what'd you guys do for clutch upgrades? It's funny that spec-v and I keep thinking so similarly, maybe he IS my long lost brother!...I'm adopted so I dont know if I have any "brothers" or "sisters" :)

Check out the other thread about him...it seems he's been having "difficulty" getting people their clips.

now, now, just because he has been having difficulty getting clips doesnt mean we should cast him out. He hasnt been on the forum lately so dont assume he is done. Cameron knows a lot about rb engines and can be very helpful at times. Give him a chance to explain himself first.

And I have lots of different resources telling me that the n/a 300zx clutch is the same. I am just worried about the throw out bearing!

Krayton, are you gonna swap a RB in your 240?

i also live in tucson and will be doing it soon :)

and from what i understand the TO bearing IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH THE RB ENGINES.

my RPS clutch gets here next week. ;)

dcdrifter...I just said he was having difficulty, which he is...nothing wrong with saying it how it is! Also, Kamin, is that RPS clutch for the RB, if so, where did you get it and approximately how much?

Yes its a RPS for the RB (technically the 300zx NA) here is the part number and specsMS-17522-ST 400ft lb torque capacity, MAX presure plate and a unsprung street disc. my friend has a near idenical clutch on his SR20 and it is AWESOME.

and i cant say the price, getting a smoking deal, but retail is 400

Krayton, Yes im doing my swap. waiting for venus to get the next set of clips in then i need to find a daily driver, then i put the RB in my 97 ;)

i hope to start it around mid august.

as far as i know the Z32 TT transmission is the same except the bell housing. not the na transmission. also alot of people are questioning alot of things cameron said. i knew this would happen.

Well I just pulled out the RB25's stock throwout bearing. It is different from the N/A 300zx bearing. First off it is bigger. Some other minor differences. As soon as I find my camera usb cord I can post some pics.

Not sure if you can use this but, the serial ID on the stock bearing is:

Koyo RCT4075-1S

Sorry but I havent found a place yet that has a TO in stock that i could compare. i'll have to make some calls. this is gonna be a busy week for me so i'm not sure if i can do it now. if someone could take pics of a TO off a z32 turbo i might be able to compare my stock rb25 bearing.

Thats cool, I think I may be able to use the one off my 240sx. It connects perfectly to the fork and moves freely on the trans shaft. It is also the same size as the mark on the pressure plate.
