i have my transmission off an put on a new throwout bearing on.. and when i push the fork forward it brings the bearing forward but i let off and it doesnt bring itself back.. i have to push it back.. is that how its sappose to be?

You have to remember that most of the input shaft will slide back behind the clutch when the trans is mounted. It will leave you some freeplay but not enough to slide the TOB off. Also make sure the fork is on the pivot ball correctly.
