My Throwout bearing sits like this picture.the picture is exaggerated to give you the idea.

(the inner ring spins).. its an exaggerated pic remember.

my question is is this normal?the back stationary part spins oblong(ellipse like) like and it would have to be spinning the input shaft oblong like too since its on it.

and since the spinning part cannot spin the pressure plate oblong like.. or can it?

and also are F1 Racing Throwout bearings any good?cuz a friend has one thats new and i was thinking of using it.im low on cash and my transmission needs to go in sometime tomorrow.thats why im asking you guys if this is ok..

my transmission broke cuz of what i thought was a bad inputshaft Bering.it whined and chattered like HELL! and wouldn't shift into gears smoothly.and it grind.

so your help would be awesome.

Uhh... yeah your T/B is dead. Bearings are supposed to spin freely and concentric. Buy a new one.

if that is what the new bearing looks like then you are o.k. .It is a self aligning bearing.According to daikin (exedy) they say thats how they will look but once pressure is applied it will line up fine and to not be afraid of it.

just coat the inputt shaft with grease, the bearing itself shouldn't need grease on it if it is fresh out of the box. also put grease on the pivot ball

Sorry to threadjack, but still on topic. Anyone know how too pull the locking pin out, that holds the t.o. bearing in?

Never put grease on the throwout bearing.FSM says not to.I would think slippage would easily occur as grease will come into contact with the disc once it is on the pressure plate fingers.
