Hi guys, I have an sr20det and my throw-out bearing is bad. My question is, how long can i ride before stuff gets really bad? What could happen? The reason i ask this is because its my daily and I wont have money for a new clutch for another 3 weeks. Any help would be apreciated!!

Thanks!

It really depends on how you drive and how far you drive. When it goes bad you will start to eat up your pressure plate forks and you might not be able to put the car into any gear. but it takes a lot for the throw out bearing to get completely wasted. Also why are you getting a new clutch? if your throw out bearing is dead doesnt mean your clutch is.

How long has it been acting up? Like Bkos said, it takes a lot to completely destroy a throw out bearing. You should be ok for another 3 weeks.

And personally, I'd do the whole shebang if I had the transmission dropped. Throwout bearing, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and you might even want to think about upgrading your pivot fork bolt if you are running a beefy clutch.

http://www.splparts.com sells them.
