Hello all it's been awhile but I really need some help to this problem.

Car is 91 240 with S13 SR20 swap spec stage 3+ clutch and PP.

Car won't go into gear while running. We tried pretty much everything and I think I have narrowed it down to having the wrong TOB installed.

So far we have had to pull the transmission twice and both times everything looks legit. New Flywheel, clutch disc, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, master cylinder, slave cylinder.

The throw out bearing for the new install was this one http://www.frsport.com/Koyo-Bearing-BRG ... 13841.html

The only problem was that this one was very different than the one I pulled off. This one is much larger.

I have searched pretty exhaustively and I keep finding a lot of conflicting info. So what I have gathered is that the SR and KA TOB are different. At least different from the years of 89-90 and 91-98. Also I see the release sleeves are also different from the KA to SR.

I have also read that you can use a KA release sleeve and 300zx TOB and it will work with the SR?

I'm positive at this point I am using a s13 redtop release sleeve with a 91-98 KA TOB. So far this combo will make so you can't shift with the car running.

Another point is that with the new TOB installed there seems to be a good half inch lip of the release sleeve protruding. Meaning the TOB race is not flush with the sleeve end.

I really just need to know what combo of TOB's and release sleeves work with a s13 Sr transmission. I have a feeling I need the TOB from a 89 KA for it to work on my SR release sleeve.

I'm very confused and frustrated. If you have any knowledge on this issue please post it up. I am trying to piece together peoples builds looking for similarities. I know I can't be the only one to run into this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Have you adjusted your clutch pedal travel & engagement height? That would certainly cause the listed problem of not being able to go into gear when running.

Yes from all the way to all the way down. Bled multiple times. I even changed the clutch line from the hard to a SS line from master all the way to slave and bled again multiple times and also adjusted the clutch for every part I changed.

I would really like to know this for further people who run into this problem. I have seen some similar problems and it seems like the people who have them never post their solution.

Well what is do the morning is ordered a OEM sr20det TOB part# 30502-21000.

Well see of that works. If not idk wtf to do. Maybe just get a new transmission lol.

The only time I have seen this was when a customer had received some non-SR clutch kit on his swap (IIRC it was a Toyota clutch!), and it had a different TO bearing carrier installed to make it work. My customer could not get anything to work - it ended up being the Toyota TOB carrier that screwed up the distances. It was off by less than 1/2 inch and caused similar issues. I would definitely try a known S13/S14 TO carrier along with your new TOB.
