Ok so i put a new clucth in my rb25 today because my old wone would slip once boost hit so i though it was just the crap ebay clutch i put in. so i bought a ACT 6 puck, Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, and RB Motoring 12LB Flywheel. I put a brand new throw out on the collar and pilot beaing in too. Now i jumped in to drive it and with the cluch all the way out it wont move!!! It revs like its in neutral!!! So from what i can gather the collar is to long. its touching the back of the trans and still pushing in on the pressure plate so my question is what collar do i need! Please respond asap as its in my uncils shop taking up a lift and i need to get it asap! Evan had said something about using a 300zx collar... but before i buy one i wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this and what they did to correct it! Thanks!

Its not a pedal problem. The fork that comes out it like 2-3mm from touching the front of the hole in the trans that the fork comes out of and the cylinder cant go in any more. when looking in the trans you can see the collar is touching the back of the bell housing and still hitting the pressure plate... it has to be to long of a collar

So i found this link with parts and i saw the part number for the R33 GTS Collar and says 18mm... I asume if i order this it will work on a S1 Rb25 with a ACT clutch correct?zer...age=5P.S. If anyone has and extra trans with the correct collar that will sell it and express ship it to me that would be amazing!

Not to be anoying but like i said this is URGENT! someone else has had to put a new clutch in thier car or have a spare trans laying around... If someone could post a pic of thier collar that would be great. I am looking at just buying one off of a 90 300zx and want to know if it would work...

the release bearing collar should be interchange able between the Z32 and RB25, as the input shaft is the same diameter along with other characteristics.

so how did the collar work before and not work now? my guess is installation error. are you pressing the tob into the collar correctly?

if you need a new collar, the oem z32 n/a collar is a direct replacement.

Thanks guys! It was not working before that was the reason why i changed it the clutch again. it would catch a little but now it wont at all... its confusing me too but ill just order the z32 na one and see if it fixes it. Just wondering but thats the 90 and up 300zx correct?

that seems odd that to me, are you sure you're not referring to the throwout bearing?

It cant be the bearing itslef. I replaced it with a new oem one from nissan for the RB25 from Phase2motortrend.So it has to be the collar. Its to long so i just need to make sure i can order correct one because its not the easiest thing to keep pulling it all apart. Are you sure you can use the oem collar with the ACT Clutch with a heavy duty PP

Can you throw up some pics... Where did you get the bearing sleeve from? Didn't it come with the motor and trans? Anyway I think I have a new OEM RB25 sleeve, let me just double check the part number...

Today i ordered three different collars from nissan and a new throwout bearing from a NA 90 300zx. I figure one of those three will be the right one... if not ill have the one that came on the engine machined down so the bearing ssits further down on it so it will let the clutch grab!

I dont know if anyone will care but i figure it will help with future issues (if it ever happens again) The collar that came in my setup was wrong... i have no idea why or how but the one that came out of my trans is the one on the right and the one on the left was the one i got at the dealer for the R33. I was told there are only 13 more left in the US! The bottom pic is the part number (the one in the part number thread was wrong)Hope this helps someone else! My clutch works amazing now!

so since you got the issue fixed, just a quick question:

Is this RB25DET in your S13 pictures in your avatar?

If so, what do you do to go about changing the clutch?: I can't drop the transmission because the back of my motor is pretty much already resting on my firewall...

Only things I have thought of so far is putting it on a hydraulic lift, and dropping the motor underneath the car to change the clutch... But with limited resources and $$$ I am not looking forward to this method.

Yeah it is...and damn if its that close you will have to put a jack under the sub frame and lower the entire engine down so you can get to the upper two bolts and slide the engine off. I thought the same thing though but once you pull the trans crossmember the engine tilted back far enough and i could get to those bolts with a RWD trans socket extension... or you could just use a crap ton of extensions and an impact!Good luck man. oh last thing i kinda hit in the fire wall once i got the trans out all the way around the tunnel so i could slide the trans out easier because i know it wont be the last time i pull it out!
