ok i tuned my car so far that i'm running 14psi with no problems. now i would like to upgrage for a larger throttle body. now if seen people use some infinity throttle bodies as upgrades for hondas. now i would like to know witch throttle body will improve my performance at best and how much will i have to spend for it? and if i'll need to do modifications to make it fit?

Kevin.

If you still have your KA engine, you can use the KA throttle body, need to dremil the intake on the ca a bit to allow for more air to flow but the KA one is plug and play.

Good luck,

I believe its only the KA24E throttle body that fits.

As a seperate note if you're running 14psi on the STOCK turbo it won't last long..Mine didn't (but it was fun while it did :D)

KA E is the closest fit. If you use the KA DE the coolant lines are on the top of the TB. You can use the Q TB, but I personally think it's over kill unless you're making 300+hp.

Spool has nothing to do with the throttle body. It has to do with the displacement and compression ratio of the motor.

I cut the coolant passage off with a dremel and relocated it to under the tb.

You can use the KA DE, but you'll have to do as akihisa did and cut if off and hook up the coolant lines under the TB. If you use the KA E TB, the nipples don't point in the right direction, but it's underneath the mani like it should be. I'm using a KA E, but I bypassed the TB coolant lines.

What's funny is that they aren't really for cooling, but for heating the TB....

How exactly do you plan to attatch the cable to the manifold and the TB plate pulley if they are on opposite sides?

Regardless of what hand drive you are....

the throttle body wont get hot and affect the temp of the air going through? if thats true then it wouldnt matter if you just got rid of the hoses to make it look a little bit cleaner and easier to acces that area with out any hoses?

Don't quote me on this, but I BELIEVE that the purpose of the coolant lines going throught the throttle body is kind of an old school train of thought that at lower air temps the throttle plate cant frost up. It happened frequently with carburated vehicles. I think they later realized that the frosting was due not only to the cold air, but the fuel being atomized in the air, which lowered it even more. I don't think it's a real concern in a modern fuel injected engine. Especially one that is turbocharged.

I've got a single on mine. It works fine. The nipples on the bottom didn't point in the right direction and I so I cut them off. I THINK I might have had to mess with the connection for the cable, but I'm not sure. I may have just swapped my stuff from the CA TB over.

I just flipped the KA24E TB, cut the coolant nipples off, and adjusted my throttle cable. Everything worked just fine. Although I did eat like 6 Dremel bits port matching the intake mani lol.

Carbide bits are your friend. I used one carbide bit on my wastegate porting for about 2hrs straight and it still looked brand new when I was done.
