what does the throttle switch do? why does it not make a difference if its plugged in or not. Does anyone know how to check for a faulty computer?

The TPS on your TBI truck has two purposes. One is the throttle position. That tells the ECM. the angle of the throttle plate. The other is the idle switch that tells theECM that the AAC vavle to operate to keep the engine ldle in spec speeds. The wax pellet must be completely relaxed to have the switch closed.

how can i tell if one or both of these are not working. i looked at a wiring diagram and off the idle switch plug is three wires, one goes to "Check Connector". the wire on my plug is missing, i only have 2 wires on the plug although there are three slots, what sort of problems will this cause.
