I was wondering for those of you that have done this, if this is relatively easy to do? A shop I know wants to do this for me but at $90 an hour labor and them telling me its 2 hrs, I'm wanting to do this myself. I found the tutorial on it but I wanted to get your guys' input before I get started. thanks

here is the tutorial--->Adjustment:

If Throttle Sensor is replaced or removed, it is necessary to install in proper position, by following the procedures shown below:

1. Install Throttle Sensor body in the Throttle Chamber. Do not tighten bolts. Leave bolts loose.2. Connect Throttle Sensor harness connector.3. Start engine and warm up sufficiently.4. Measure output voltage of Throttle Sensor using voltmeter.5. Adjust by rotating Throttle Sensor body so that the output voltage is 0.45 - 0.55 volts.6. Tighten mounting bolts.7. Disconnect Throttle Sensor harness for a few seconds and then reconnect it.

With the locking tab of the connector pointing up and looking at the back of the connector as the wires from the wire harness go into it, terminal #1 is the one on the LEFT. #2 is in the MIDDLE and #3 is on the RIGHT.

Output voltage is measured across terminals #2 and #3 from the harness side of the connector.

If you feel comfortable useing a meter and making adjustments while the car is running then by all means do it yourself.

$90 an hour is the going rate in some areas but 2 hours is a rip off. it should take at most about a half hour. It maybe that the shop has a 2 hour minimum also.

Just follow the instructions and use cautin around the moving belts etc. Also a good time to meet some other NICO friend in your area. I am sure sombody will watch over you to make sure you don't mess up in exchange for a beverage or 2

Its easy to do - 5 minutes at most if you know what you're doing. Just follow the steps you listed. The car doesn't even have to be on.

Just make sure you get anywhere between 0.45 to 0.5V

I hope your car is a 5-speed, because the automatic TPS gets adjusted a different way. Regardless, its a 5-10 minute procedure.

yeah i figured 2 hrs was a lot, i just don't have any experience with a multimeter and don't know of any other people in the area that own 240sx's.

Check out page 164 in the EC section of the factory manual. It tells how to do it.

so i've changed the sensor out, got working with the multimeter and I can't for the life of me, get the voltage between 0.45-0.55....i can only get the sensor to 0.79. I have the factory service manual but I just couldn't get it and I had to eyeball it and pretty much guess to where idle should be with my ear. I'm gonna have to take it into the shop and have the TPS adjusted which is going to cost me 2hrs of labor, so they say...my car has been a real pain in the *** the last 3 months

check the ohm tolerance of the tps. ensure it is good. .79 seems high.
