I was getting crazy readings from my TPS along with a slight hesitation on my 91 240sx..

So I bought another tps and it seemed simple enough, took out the intake, took out the tps bolts and disconnect all the vacuum lines in the way.. I go to slide it off the throttle body and I can't because more **** is in the way.. Anyone with experience can you tell me how you took it off? I don't want to be taking off **** I don't need to..

thanks for the help!

Pull the TB off. You need to clean it anyway.

Make sure you wash the throttle body with soap and water real well on the edges and the back of the throttle plate. To start i used brake cleaner, wiped it down, then used soap and water. I only sprayed the cleaner once though. With the intake off I would clean the MAF if you havent yet with denatured alchohol.

I cleaned everything up and re-installed the new one, When I measure the male end coming out of the tps I don't get any volt readings, The female end puts out about 4.8 or so..

Edit - this is the manual tps, no connector on the tps itself..

I figured it out, got it reading -.48 V and the resistance is now within spec..

I still have a slight hesitation problem and a bit of a lumpy idle.. Kinda lost as to what else it could be.
