Throttle position sensor and mechanism

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

I have experienced poor throttle response intermittently before I got my flash (2018 RS RWD). I chalked it up to lag/heat soak, but found it strange that it would go away after turning the car off then back on (without enough time to let it cool). Car throws no CELs or DTCs.

The ecutek connect app provided more insight. At first it was just a slow response, but what I experienced yesterday was more exaggerated and I was able to log it.

We were seeing a difference between pedal voltage and throttle position sensor 1 b1 voltage, where pedal voltage would act normally from 0.7v to 4.6v (released to full), but throttle position sensor 1 b1 would not change resulting in 0 throttle response, which is obviously a very dangerous situation.

I've done a search here, but didn't really see anything about a failed throttle position sensor. I believe that warrants a throttle body replacement, but I'll need to dig in and do some research.

If the lag is only happening from a stop or dropped-throttle and not under other other conditions, try cleaning the Throttle Body first. You probably have a carbon lip in the barrel and the butterfly is sticking off-idle.
