Throttle position control and 4wd

Hi guys, i have a problem with my 1997 QX4 4wd light stays on. The code i get is throttle position control and my mechanic told me that the if the throttle is faulty the transmission and transfer case is not working properly so that's why i have 4wd light on. Any advice it will be highly appreciated.Regards

Do you know what the DTC (fault code) was exactly?

I get 14 flashes from on board diagnostic which is throttle control.

p0120 that's the code for the throttle and i get 4 other code for transmission, gear1, gear2, gear3.

From some of the following pictures it looks like you may be able to service the throttle position switch to fix your issue. You will need to repair or replace the TPS to make all of the codes go away. Replacing the TPS is very simple and will take only probably 30 minutes, but the part is somewhat pricey at about $115.
