I have a 2002 LE w/auto trans. Whereas this thing LEAPS off the line with very little throttle input, I have noticed that when I am at speed on the highway (say anything over about 40MPH or so) and I really want to get into it to overtake the jerk next to me who is blocking the lane, the throttle response lags quite a bit (about 1 to 2 seconds), very similar to turbo lag.

Can anyone explain why this might be happening, or is it normal for the VQ35?

Thanks,

Panzer

I think should you clean out the MAF senor and maybe clean the throttle body. I clean mine out for the first time. Its got about 179km and it had a s**t load of dirt in it. but its much smoother now.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I forgot to mention that my Pathy has about 72,500 miles on it.

There is no roughness whatsoever. Just the lag time between pressing the pedal (hard) and getting a response.

i realized a difference in my path ever since i put in that maxima maf. yeah it still has the power but low end seems to be gone (could just be my leaking exhaust manifold or downpipe). I've been getting s***ty gas mielage(could just be my o2 sensors). And the last thing is that it seems to be alot ruff in the low end. Lots of vibration cruising in 5th in the low rpms.
