My 98 SE has 2 throttle related issues. First of all, the car redlines 1k before it is supposed to. I thought this was due to a bad TPS(Throttle Position Sensor), but a new one did not fix the problem. Second, when shifting, my car gives me a jerk. Sometimes it does this after I have put the car into a gear. I do not know if this is an ignition problem like bad wires, or a transmission issue. The car is a manual, but it seems to have a bad tran. mount. Would that cause it to jerk? Any advice would help. Thank you in advance

No its a standard. It jerks after I shift and let go of the clutch, as I accelerate. I was thinking it coulf be the MAF sensor. I do know I need a transmission mount though

do you usually let the clutch go fast or slow when you shift?

could be worn bushings...transmission, motor, or rear subframe bushings that are shot. I know i just put in subframe collars on mine and that fixed a lot of my problems. noise and vibration has increased 2 fold but it is a much nicer handling car even on stock shocks and springs.
