my car is starting to have a little problem.it started tonight,

when i give it gas, it wants to die.if i barely touch it and eeeease into it, like super ease, its all good.any like, quick twitch kind of motion will cause the rpms to drop and its kinda like if you were to start from a stop and not give it gas and just let off the clutch.

any ideas?

i think i could be the fuel filter, but im not sure.it seems fuel related.

thanks for any help

clogged fuel filter, bad FPR, lazy o2 sensor, misreading maf could all be the culprit.

Any CEL's?

Sound like a dirty maf and possible bad O2 sensor

possibly.

well here's an update.i changed the FF and the CEL is no longer on.my car wouldnt turn over.it could sit there and crank all night but it wouldnt turn over.after giving it gas for a while it finally started but idled like s*** but eventually, the idle was back to normal.this happened for a while.

then allenms240 came to help, we switched battery since mine was dying from my pita car not wanting to turn over.we got to my place and my car would turn over but the idle was still rough.

i still have the same throttle issue.when i give it gas, it seems like that car wants to die, like its losing all power.only way to prevent it is to ease onto the gas.

anyone encounter this problem before?

-MAF-IACV-O2 sensor

it's weird you engine light turned off after the FF got replaced, possibly it was affecting fuel pressure so I would check that since the problem still persists. could be your pressure is just out of wack. GL

yea,

well the problem is back.the starting issue isnt as bad.sometimes it has trouble turning over.

but the loss of power when given too much gas while in neutral/clutch engaged is still evident.

im going to change my air filter since it was dirty and maybe it'll be good help or just temporary like the MAF cleaner.

after that it may be the o2 sensor so ima change that.

a buddy of mine said that the way i described it, it sounds like it could be a bad vacuum leak?

idk, im gonna check my codes hopefully tomorrow to see what the deal is.

also, i think im running rich.

when i try to give it gas and it starts to lose power, smoke comes out from under the car and it smells like fuel.

i tried researching a bit and came across a topic in a mustang forum where a guy said to use 87 otherwise the OP would run rich?

i run 91 octane.should i go to 87?(just figured 91 was the best, ya know?)

No, almost everyone uses premium gas, it should have any affect on it whatsoever. Hmmm running rich with the CEL light on eh?Bad O2 sensor. Next time we're chillin sean, Ill pull mine out and we'll test it on your car. Its not a vacuum leak. That would cause the car to always idle funky. Pull codes sean let me know how it goes.

Sorry to thread jack. lolSometimes when i start my car, it'll idle really bad, ill step on the gas and itll die down. It does it for about 30 seconds then idles flawlessly. It only does this every now and then and I dont understand why it only does it on start ups. Any ideas?
