I bought a jwt ecu from a buddy the ecu is out of a 90 but he tuned it for his 91.

Tuned for 91 TT 5speed
Single Pop
370cc
91octane

My car is 92 tt 5spd single pop 370cc and run 91 octane.

Heres my dilema. I plugged it in and the car is running great with it. But the throttle keeps cutting, I will be cruising and not move the gas pedal at all and it will cut out no response then kick right back in, and the turbos are trying to spool cause my boost gauge jumps up a little but doesnt build boost. Also when it started doing it i pushed in the clutch to see if it would rev while in neutral, it bounces up to 3k rpms then back to 1k and just keeps doing that.. But its intermittent..... anybody know whats causing this?!?!?

He says that a bad o2 sensor, tps sensor, or maf sensor throws the JWT ECU's into limp mode?!? I do have a slight miss before and after swapping the ecu's but I havent had time to figure that out just got it running yesterday. Thanks!

The ECU has to go through an auto-learn mode. It should happen when it loses power for a long period of time. If you have access to ConZult software, you can force it through there. And yea, I'd guess its most likely your TPS: http://z32.wikispaces.com/Throttle+Position+Sensor

I didnt know it had to go through an auto learn.... maybe that was why it was cutting out...

I was thinking the tps too, but i tested resistance and it was below specs, but i dont think that would cause this, and i set it at exactly .45v and screwed the idle screw all the way in. it idles at about 1200 now, but when it was loose i pulled on it out and it idled down to about 750... so i think i might replace it jsut to see if it fixes my problems drove my car 10miles to work this morning and it didnt cut out. I have no clue lol next im gonna smoke test it, and see if i have any vacuum leaks and go from there.

Took apart the ecu he sold me. Not socketed lol dumb dumb me. So I swapped my ecu's back to my stock one. Oh well good for a core haha!

This is a stupid question but where should I start to try and figure out which cylinder is misfiring? If I set cruise at any speed I can feel it very often, like its pulling back pretty sure its a misfire, tomorrow hopefully I have enough time to check a few more things after work. I'm just kinda confused as to where to start looking for a misfire. Just replaced injectors, spark plugs, injector connectors, coil pack connectors, and a few other connectors. but i think it was misfiring before I did this i just cant remember I havent drivin it enough...

Im running pretty much a stock car. I really just want to get this thing leak free and running like a champ! But it kinda seems like I'm wasting time 1 step forward 5 back ugh :( loosing the love

I think I'm just gonna start saving up for a second car, and rebuild the motor I have low compression on 2 cyl's which i guess could cause it to misfire? I'm so lost on what to do next :(

So once again I make myself look like a dope... I figured out I have an adapter for our scan tool at work that hooks into our dlc connector and found that my ect was bad... or something.. I replaced it code went away and its running alot better!!!
