Are the throttle cables from the 89' and 90' s13 shorter then on the later year s13's. My cable hardly fits and im scared the engine torque is going to break it.

i JUST put a DOHC throttle cable onto my 90 hatch with sr20. The throttle cable was from an s14 and when i first installed it, the gas pedal wasy MUCH higher, rite next to the brake pedal and the feel was horrible. So i switched the firewall bracket/pedal stopper with the bracket from the SOHC cable and the gas pedal sits at it's normal location. Someone told me to just bend the gas pedal to get it back but that made me feel uneasy. So i just moved the throttle cable bracket by the throttle body closer, and needed to fab up a new longer bracket, as now the cable is closer to the throttle wheel/throttle body. Hope that made sense.

-The only reason i switched cables was because a few of the metal braids on my SOHC cable broke. If yours is good, don't worry about it unless u just don't like the look of the cable crossing the valve cover.

cool, its not frayed and i could care less if people dont like it crossing the valve cover, I'll keep it.
