ok so the other day while i was driving i hit the gas pedal to speed up and nothing so i pulled over and popped the hood to see that my throttle cable nuts came loose and it popped off the bracket. so i go to my trunk pull out a wrench and tighten it back on and drive on home. so now im worried that i might not have adjusted right because now once the car warms up my rpms are lower than before this happend and sometimes when i slow down to a stop my rpms will drop and the car cut off(thinking throttle closes all the way and the motor gets no air). so how much tension do i need on the cable? if i push on it with my finger right now it has alot of slack in it. i need my baby to breath right.

well your throttle cable shouldn't be used to control your idle...so that's another issue. the throttle plate should close all the way and idle is controlled through the idle air control valve. as far as the tension on the cable...the way i set mine up is to have a little slack on it just to be sure it's closed all the way then get a buddy to push the gas pedal to the floor and you check to see if the throttle plate is opening all the way...WOT. if it doesn't, adjust the cable a little tighter until it does.

The cable should be pulled as snug as you can get it without opening the throttle plate. As for the stalling issue, most likely your iac is dirty or going bad, try cleaning the iac and see if that helps, if not I think that I have a s13 iac sitting around the shop somewhere, if you want it pay for the shipping and its yours.

DOH!! Wretched beat me to it.

i didnt even think to check my iacv, good looking out bro well most def check that out. i already checked to make sure none of my grounds came loose or any wires anywhere, was going to check for vacuum leaks too just in case cause i figure if my throttle cable came loose something else could have popped loose. just gotta keep this KA running a little longer til i can get an SR.

It would be a little cheaper to ship it, and the only advantage to picking it up would that the post office wouldn't have the chance to loose the damn thing.

There is no such thing as to much when it comes to 240 spare parts, unless you have a sr powered car and most of the extra parts are ka related.

Most of those cars aren't even mine, I think that there are 6 there right now and only 2 of them are mine.

HA, I forgot all about that, I face palmed when I finally got a good look at the extent of how crappy that paint job was.
